Touch me, remind me who I am[1] is the concurrent presentation of the latest Snehta residents: Kyungmin Sophia Son, Lorna Bauer and Maria Andreou. This presentation develops in a vertebral conformation. The spinal cord of the exhibited artistic practices is the common need to materialize the intangible and the consequent incitement to assimilate the inconspicuous, the tacit. This handle of tactility challenges the authority of the visually perceptible and desires to grasp the immaterial, experiential forces which escape unnoticed but determine subjective realities.

The independently displayed works are launched by different incentives and actualized in distinct forms. Kyungmin Sophia Son (b. 1988, South Korea) works with forms of immersive installation in order to explore the posthuman condition. Lorna Bauer (b. 1980, Canada) works with photography and multi-media sculptural installations that illustrate the imprint of psychogeographical explorations. Maria Andreou (b. 1989, Cyprus) works with the medium of language, underlining the distinction between signifier and signified in the written word.

Το Touch me, remind me who I am[1] είναι η συλλογική παρουσίαση των καλλιτεχνών που φιλοξενούνται αυτή την περίοδο στο Snehta Residency: Kyungmin Sophia Son, Lorna Bauer και Μαρία Ανδρέου. Αυτή η παρουσίαση αναπτύσσεται σε σπονδυλωτή δομή. Η ραχοκοκκαλιά των τριών καλλιτεχνικών πρακτικών είναι η κοινή ανάγκη να πραγματώσουν το άυλο και η επακόλουθη προτροπή για κατανόηση του αφανούς, του άρρητου. Αυτός ο χειρισμός της απτότητας αμφισβητεί την αυθεντία του οπτικά αντιληπτού και επιθυμεί να κάνει χειροπιαστές τις απροσδιόριστες, εμπειρικές δυνάμεις που συχνά περνούν απαρατήρητες αλλά τελικά καθορίζουν υποκειμενικές πραγματικότητες.

Τα ανεξάρτητα μεταξύ τους έργα έχουν διαφορετικές αφετηρίες έρευνας και υλοποιούνται με ξεχωριστές μορφές. Η Kyungmin Sophia Son (1988, Νότια Κορέα) χρησιμοποιεί μεγάλης διάστασης εγκαταστάσεις προκειμένου να εξερευνήσει τη συνθήκη του μετα-ανθρωπισμού. Η Lorna Bauer (1980, Καναδάς) καταπιάνεται με φωτογραφία και εγκαταστάσεις που εικονοποιούν το αποτύπωμα ψυχογεωγραφικών αναζητήσεων. Η Μαρία Ανδρέου (1989, Κύπρος), εργάζεται με το μέσο της γλώσσας, υπογραμμίζοντας την διαφορά μεταξύ σημαίνοντος και σημαινόμενου στον γραπτό λόγο.
