Following Paris in 2015 and London in 2016, the third edition of the Zone d’Utopie Temporaire (Z.U.T.) summer residency programme has taken place in Athens this July 2017. The residency stands as an ongoing social and creative experiment whereby a group of selected artists work together during four weeks to create a Temporary Utopian Zone.

The group worked with guest speakers Stella Dimitrakopoulou, Ivan Masteropoulos, Dimitri Mpoukis, Giorgos Kontis, Jari Palta, Filoktitis Veinoglou, which has enabled ‘Utopia’ to be examined through different but complementary angles including philosophy, theology, biology and gender studies. Alongside the multiple theoretical talks, participants have organized two public events in order to open up the discussion to local communities through open studios and food experimentation.

A series of pocket Utopias is an exhibition presenting the outcome of this artistic collaboration across Yellow Brick and Snehta, where both sites have been transformed into a series of personal Utopian zones.

Programme 
Meeting at Yellow Brick, seven artists will introduce you to their work and give a private tour of the exhibition. The bus will then travel to Snehta for the second part of the exhibition which will include a six-course performative dinner created by one of our artists. Drinks and refreshments will be offered for the duration of the evening.

YELLOW BRICK
-7 pm: doors open
- 7.30 pm: opening ceremony and private tour of the exhibition
-9 pm: departure to Snehta (free bus provided)

SNEHTA
- 9.30 pm: private tour of the exhibition and six-course performative dinner
- Followed by drinks and a secret after party location

Meet us at Yellow Brick (Eptapirgiou 7, Nea Ionia 142 31S) at 7 pm, we will bring you to Snehta on the FREE ART BUS.

Μετά το Παρίσι 2015 και το Λονδίνο 2016, η τρίτη έκδοση του Zone d’Utopie Temporaire (Z.U.T.), του καλοκαιρινού προγράμματος φιλοξενίας, λαμβάνει χώρα στην Αθήνα αυτό τον Ιούλιο 2017. Το residency είναι ένα διαρκές κοινωνικό πείραμα στο οποίο επιλεγμένοι καλλιτέχνες εργάζονται μαζί για τέσσερεις βδομάδες για να δημιουργήσουν μια προσωρινή Ουτοπική ζώνη.

Η ομάδα συνεργάστηκε με  τους προσκεκλημένους ομιλητές:  Στέλλα Δημητρακοπούλου, Ίβαν Μαστερόπουλος, Δημήτρης Μπούκης, Γιώργος Κοντής, Jari Palta και Φιλοκτήτη Βεϊνόγλου. Έτσι δώθηκε η ευκαιρία στην ομάδα να ερευνήσει την έννοια της ουτοπίας απο πολλές πλευρές, μέσω της φιλοσοφίας, της θεολογίας, της χημείας, αλλά και των gender studies.

Επίσης, στο διάστημα μεταξύ των θεωρητικών συζητήσεων, οι συμμετέχοντες του residency οργάνωσαν και δύο δημόσια events που είχαν ως στόχο να μεταδόσουν τον προβληματισμό για την Ουτοπία και στην τοπική κοινότητα, κι αυτό επιχειρήθηκε με open studios και με γαστρονομικές προσκλήσεις.

Tέλος, «A series of pocket Utopias» είναι το θέμα μιας έκθεσης που παρουσιάζει το αποτέλεσμα μιας πολύ πρωτότυπης έρευνας για το ίδιο πρόγραμμα, που διενήργησαν οι συμμετέχοντες στους δυο χώρους, του Yellow Brick και του Snehta, αφού πρώτα μεταμόρφωσαν αυτούς τους δυο χώρους σε Ουτοπικές Ζώνες δράσης.

Πρόγραμμα
Αφού συναντηθούμε αρχικά στο Yellow Brick, οι επτά καλλιτέχνες με μια σύντομη εισήγηση για τη δουλειά τους, θα ξεναγήσουν με ένα private tour τους επισκέπτες στα εκθέματα. Ακολούθως το λεωφορείο θα μεταφέρει το κοινό στο χώρο Snehta για το δεύτερο μέρος της έκθεσης και εκεί στη συνέχεια θα προσφερθεί ένα performative δείπνο 6 πιάτων, «έργο» και αυτό, μιας εκ των 7 καλλιτεχνών. Ποτά και αναψυκτικά θα προσφέρονται
κατά τη διάρκεια της βραδυάς.
